Golf Business Forum, 12 - 14 May 2008, Dublin

THE Newly opened Ritz-Carlton Powerscourt Hotel, near Dublin, is to host the leading golf business event for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

KPMG has announced that its fifth annual Golf Business Forum will take place from May 12-14, 2008.

The conference is anticipated to attract golf’s biggest players from the world’s hotel, real estate, finance and tourism sectors.

“Ireland has proved itself to be a world leader in developing golf tourism, successful golf resorts and communities, and is home to some of the world’s most spectacular golf courses, so it is entirely appropriate that the fifth annual Golf Business Forum should be hosted in Ireland,” said Andrea Sartori, head of KPMG’s specialist Golf Advisory Services Team EMA, and founder of the Golf Business Forum.

“The Irish Government’s pro-active support of golf and tourism, combined with well-planned developments, has generated phenomenal success and offers a compelling case study from which international delegates to the Golf Business Forum will undoubtedly learn and benefit.”

An anticipated 300 delegates from more than 40 countries will benefit from valuable insight into how Ireland successfully transformed itself form a mature golf market into one of the world’s top golf destinations.

Delegates will also be able to enjoy the grand style of the newly opened Ritz-Carlton Powerscourt Hotel, just 16 miles south of Dublin, featuring a Gordon Ramsay signature restaurant, plus two outstanding 18-hole championship golf courses set amid the beauty of the Powerscourt Estate in County Wicklow.

Jack Nicklaus, arguably history's greatest golfer and one of today's most recognized global ambassadors of the game, will attend the 5th annual KPMG Golf Business Forum in person to receive the Golf Business Forum Lifetime Achievement Award.

Nicklaus, a winner of a record 18 professional major championships among his 118 professional victories worldwide, and, for the past 40 years, one of the golf business' most industry-shaping and prolific golf course designers, will receive the award in front of an expected audience of more than 300 international industry professionals at The Ritz-Carlton Powerscourt Hotel, near Dublin, Ireland, May 12-14, 2008.

“Jack Nicklaus is not only one of the greatest sportsmen and athletes of all time, he is a giant of the international golf business," said Andrea Sartori, head of KPMG's Golf Advisory Services Team in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMA). “We are honored and privileged that Mr. Nicklaus will attend the Golf Business Forum to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award, and lend his monumental presence to our event.”

The Golf Business Forum, which has established itself as the leading golf business event for EMA, will this year focus on 'Golf Resorts and Golf Communities' and will feature a glittering array of expert speakers offering insight on a variety of compelling industry topics.
